Things to do after a tooth extraction
- Take pain medication as needed
- Avoid spitting, smoking or straws to prevent clot dislodging
- Use moist gauze or a tea bag to slow down bleeding (gradually decreases in 1-3 days)
- Stay on a soft diet until area feels back to normal
- Rinse your mouth with salt water to reduce post infection
